The license

What the license means

A personal license is for one person, not one machine. You may use Guard on your own desktop or laptop computers.

Your license works for Guard 1.x. Future minor updates and fixes for version 1 are included.

Major future versions, such as Guard 2.x, may require a new license.

After you buy

How it works

  1. Buy a Guard license.
  2. Receive your license key by email, with a license file attached.
  3. In Guard, click Enter license on the trial banner, or open ⋯ → Settings and use Enter license….
  4. Paste the key, or click Choose license file… and pick the attached file, then click Apply license. No restart needed.

Before you buy

Try it first

Guard includes a free 30-day trial, so you can try the whole loop (capture, restore, verify) before buying.

No account is needed for the trial.

Local-first

Local by design

Guard keeps your folders and their snapshots on your own computer and drives. It is not a cloud backup service, and it does not require an account to protect, restore, or verify your files.

A license unlocks the app. It does not turn Guard into an online service.

See Privacy for what Guard does and does not do.
